THE CORNWALL COUNTY Badminton Association Annual Senior “Restricted” (“Closed”) Championships. 2012/2013, are being staged at Polkyth Leisure Centre, St. Austell, on this Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, September 29/30 (10.00 am start each day), writes John Tresidder.
The Men’s and Ladies’ Singles disciplines, the blue-ribband events, together with the Ladies’ Doubles, are being held on Saturday, with the Mixed Doubles and Men’s Doubles being contested on the second day, Sunday.
Lorna Riggs, is the Tournament Secretary and, also, a member of the County Selection Panel.
All five main disciplines are being organised on a Knock-out, format, with “Plate” competitions in all events.
Supporters and spectators will be most welcome to attend, with food and refreshments available in the Centre Café.

1). Women’s Singles: Johanna Philp, Rose Willis, Emily James and Bronwen Wotton.
2). Men’s Singles: Shane Maton, James Whetter, Ross Lashbrook, Kris Jasper, Kahoo Tse, Dave Harrington, Josh Pearce, Kelvin Edwards.
3). Women’s Doubles: Emily James/Vicki Thomas, Rose Willis/Johanna Philp.
4). Men’s Doubles: JamesWhetter/Guy Michell, Tom Lyle/Ross Lashbrook, Shane Maton/Dave Harrington, Kelvin Edwards/Sam Spencer.
5). Mixed Doubles: James Whetter/Johanna Philp, Ross Lashbrook/Bronwen Wotton, Shane Maton /Janet Santillo, Bob Bell/Lynda Beer.
